Race mechanic to composite laminator,to workshop coordinator to design draughtsman with Maurer, German, U.K. based F2 car constructor and race team. Race wins achieved by lead driver Steffen Bellof at Silverstone, Hockenheim & Pau.

1983 Research technician and design engineer for R.K. Technologies U.K. based carbon fibre manufacturer. Designer of R.K. March 847 Can-Am car, finishing 2nd in last Can-Am championship in 1984 with Jim Crawford, with race wins at Hall County , Trois Rivieres & Green Valley.

1984 Design & race engineer for Zakspeed, West Germany , involved in the design of the 841 Zakspeed F1 car driven by Jonathan Palmer.

1985- 86 Detail design of the Ford Probe GTP sports prototype car for Zakspeed U.S.A. This was the first all carbon fibre composite monocoque sports car. Moved to Detroit , U.S.A. as chief engineer to oversee building and running of the car in IMSA - GTP Championship. Race win at Laguna Seca.

1987 Returned to Zakspeed, Germany for design and race engineering of the 871 Zakspeed F1 car, driven by Martin Brundle and Christian Danner, in the 1987 World Formula 1 Championship.

1988- 90 Appointed by Eric Broadley as design and race engineer for the Lola Ford F1 project. Subsequently promoted to F1 project leader and chief designer. Responsible for the design, manufacture and engineering of the LC89, Lola Lamborghini V12 GP car, followed by the evolutionary LC90 Lamborghini V12 GP car, driven primarily by Philippe Alliot. Podium place achieved by Aguri Suzuki in Japan GP 1990.

1990- 91 Accepted the position of design director for Leyton House Racing. Responsible for the design and manufacture of the CG911, all new Ilmor V10 engined Grand prix car, driven by Ivan Capelli and Mauricio Gugelmin.

1991- 95 Recruited by the new management of Team Lotus Ltd., appointed chief designer, subsequently promoted to design director / chief engineer. Responsible for the design, manufacture and engineering of the Lotus T102C-Ford V8, T107-Ford V8, T107B-Ford V8, T107C-Mugen ZA5C V10, T109-Mugen ZA5C, T109B-Mugen Honda ZA5D V10, and the unbuilt 1995 specification T112-Mugen Honda ZA5E V10 Grand Prix cars, driven by Mikka Hakkinen, Johnny Herbert, and Alessandro Zanardi.

1995 Consultant engineer to Indianapolis based Patrick Racing Indy car team Running T9700 Lola primary Firestone car for driver Scott Pruett. Race win at Michigan super speedway.

1996 Founded Beau-Ideal Ltd. Consultant senior engineer to Lola Cars, advising on special projects.

1997- 2003 Consultant senior engineer to Belgian based Team Astromega. Running Lola T9650, T9950 and B250 cars in the FIA European F3000 Championships for drivers Soheil Ayari, Boris Derichbourg, Gonzalo Rodriguez, Gaston Mezzacane, Justin Wilson, Fernando Alonso, Dino Morelli, Marc Goosens, Georgio Pantano, Enrico Toccacelo, Mario Haberfeld and Rob Nguyen. Race wins at Helsinki , Nurburgring , Monaco , Spa and Monza.

1999 + Started D.A.T.A.S. Ltd. with co-director and vehicle dynamicist Steffen Kosuch, to develop and market ‘RaceSim' simulation software and associated race engineering and design tools. www.datas-ltd.com

2004 Consultant race engineer to Phoenix team Opel, running Opel DTM 'silouette' touring car for previous series champion Laurent Aiello.

2004 Elected Associate Member of BRDC for ‘significant contribution to British Motorsport’

2005 Consultant race engineer to BCN Competetion, running up and comingJapanese driver Hiroki Yoshimoto in the inaugural GP2 F1 support series. Many race fastes laps.

2006 Consultant race engineer to Piquet Sport running Brazilians Alex Negrao and Nelson Piquet Junior in the 2nd year of the GP2 series. Many pole positions, race wins and fastest laps. Narrowly missed winning the championship with Piquet Junior (to Lewis Hamilton) at the last race in Monza.

2007-2013 Technical Director for Campos Grand Prix, becoming Technical Director, Sporting Director & Team Manager for rebranded Addax Team in 2009. GP2 Team Champions 2008. GP2 Team Champions 2011. 25 GP2 Race wins for drivers Giorgio Pantano, Vitaly Petrov, Lucas DiGrassi, Romain Grojean, Sergio Perez, Giedo van der Garde, Charles Pic and Johnny Cecotto Jnr at Magny Cours, Monza (3), Valencia (Cheste), Sepang (2), Bahrain, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Budapest, Valencia street circuit (2), Barcelona (2), Istanbul, Silverstone, Spa (2), Hockenheim and Monaco (4). 36 other podium places and six drivers progressed into F1.
